FAQ

For our classroom events, the working materials are usually provided by ABOUT:FASHION. One exception is the "Portfolio Course Fashion Design". Here you have to bring your own working materials to the course.

People with disabilities are welcome at ABOUT:FASHION. Call us at +49 (0)30 60 94 10 19 and we will be happy to inform you about our facility and the opportunities available to you.

In exceptional cases, the courses can be paid in cash at the beginning of the course. This must be confirmed in writing in advance.

For courses that are booked online, payment of the course fee is made via the online store. Courses that cannot be booked online must be paid upon receipt of the invoice.

In any case, the course fee must be paid before the course starts. For short-term bookings on invoice, we require proof (screenshot, pdf, etc.) of the transfer.

Most courses can be booked and paid online through our website. The courses that can not be booked directly through the website, you must request by email or phone.

If the course is fully booked, we will offer you another date and contact you by email. 

Courses with less than the minimum number of 3 participants may be cancelled by us. You will then be informed in time.

For minors, the course must be booked by a parent or guardian of full age. The contract is concluded with the legal guardian.

After a free initial telephone consultation, you can book and pay for individual coaching via our website. You can reach us by phone at +49 (0)30 60 94 10 19. We will gladly accept your request at the e-mail address contact@aboutfashion.org. 

After receiving your request, we will contact you in order to define the general conditions for the individual coaching together with you and to send you an offer.

With the confirmation of the offer a binding contract with us is concluded. After receipt of the full course fee - before the start of the Individual Coaching - the implementation of the coaching is secured.

It is also possible to book several of the same courses for different people, and also several different courses at the same time.

We welcome you to ABOUT:FASHION as a group. You can either choose the course topic from our course offer or request it individually. A group course can be booked by phone or e-mail. We will be happy to advise you on +49 (0)30 60 94 10 19. We are also happy to accept your request at the e-mail address contact@aboutfashion.org. 

After we have received your request, we will contact you to determine the general conditions for the group course together with you and make you an offer.

Only the entire period of a course can be booked. It is not possible to book individual lessons.

With individual coaching, you can put together different topics individually.

During the courses we provide water and tea. For the breaks there are many great cafes, delicious restaurants and supermarkets in the vicinity.

The group course is for a group of at least 5 people. All courses, except individual coaching, can be booked as a group course. The date is then set individually and offered at a staggered price depending on the number of participants. Group courses can also be individually tailored to a group in terms of content. In this case, we will prepare an individual offer.

The vouchers are valid for three years. The monetary value cannot be paid out.

ABOUT:FASHION offers courses, lectures, workshops, seminars, coaching or presentations at fashion schools and universities. The topic of the course can be chosen from our course offer or individually coordinated. We are happy to accept inquiries about this by phone or e-mail. Jobseekers can inquire at the employment agency whether the course fees will be covered. In the past, various courses have already been paid for by the employment agency.

If you cannot attend a course for a serious reason, you must inform us in writing by e-mail as early as possible before the course starts. If you cannot attend the course due to illness, we require a medical certificate within one week. If you have proven the serious reason, we will offer you an alternative date by mutual agreement. If the reason cannot be proven, the course fee will not be refunded.

The Individual Coaching is for anyone who has questions about fashion related topics. 

The Fashion Design Portfolio Course Premium or Online is for anyone who has decided to study fashion design and wants to apply to a fashion school. 

The Study It course is for anyone interested in studying fashion or the fashion industry in general.

The Portfolio & Career Consulting course is for all fashion design students or graduates. 

The Fashion Portfolio Course is for all fashion design students or graduates. 

The Styling Portfolio Course is for all fashion design students and graduates. 

The Business Startup Course is for all fashion students or graduates who want to start a business in the field of fashion in Germany. 

The Group Course is for a group of at least 5 people who have questions about fashion-related topics and want to attend the same course.

The course contents are taught, which can be found on the website under the respective program. There may be small deviations if ABOUT:FASHION responds to the wishes of the course participants or considers a change in the program useful.

We keep the courses small to ensure the best possible care for our course participants. The number of participants varies between 3 and 10 people.

The following courses have a minimum of three participants:

If there are less than three participants, ABOUT:FASHION is not obliged to hold the course. In this case, the already registered participants will be informed by e-mail before the course starts. The paid course fee will be refunded upon request. Further claims for already paid costs such as travel, accommodation, etc. do not exist.

If a course is cancelled for unforeseen reasons or due to illness on our part, we will offer you an alternative date on which you can attend the course. If it is not possible for you to attend the alternative date, the course fee will be refunded. Further claims for already paid costs such as travel, accommodation etc. do not exist.

The minimum age for participation in our courses is 15 years.

If you miss a course, individual course days or individual lessons, these cannot be made up in another course or the course fee refunded.

We also offer our courses as an online service via video conferencing.

2010 – now
Foundation of the company ABOUT:FASHION. Since then, numerous collaborations with fashion and universities throughout Germany. Since 2011 ABOUT:FASHION has been a member of the advisory board of the renowned fashion competition "Designer for Tomorrow" (DfT). As part of this activity, ABOUT:FASHION sustainably promotes young talents and coaches them individually in the field of design. 

2010 – today 
Founded her own fashion label Blaenk, for which she and her business partner were awarded the prestigious Berlin Senate "Start your Fashion Business Award" in 2012. This was followed by an invitation from VOGUE editor-in-chief Christiane Arp to participate in the coveted VOGUE Salon, where Blaenk presented several collections to an international professional audience during Berlin Fashion Week. 

2009 – 2010
Lecturer for fashion design at the renowned Esmod Berlin School of Fashion Arts. 

1999 – 2009
Worked as a fashion designer for renowned fashion houses in other European countries:

1995 – 1998
Studied fashion design at ESMOD International in Paris, graduating summa cum laude. The final collection was shown at the prestigious fashion competition "14ème Festival International des Arts de la Mode Hyères".

The "Fashion Portfolio Course" can be conducted bilingually if required. The "Fashion & Design Course" includes a theory part. Knowledge of German is therefore an advantage. In the past, however, it has also been attended by foreign participants with little knowledge of the language. We recommend that you contact us so that we can advise you in this regard.

A booking can be cancelled in writing up to four weeks before the start of the course. The course fee will then be refunded minus a processing fee of 30,- Euro. In case of a later cancellation, the full amount will be due. In case of late arrival, no-show or cancellation of the course, no refund will be made.

We will be happy to issue a confirmation of participation upon request.

At ABOUT:FASHION there are courses for different levels. 

For the "Portfolio Course Fashion Design" no previous knowledge is required. They are usually attended consecutively by our course participants.

The "Portfolio & Career Consulting", "Fashion Portfolio Course", "Styling Portfolio Course" and "Business Startup" are aimed at fashion students or graduates with prior knowledge.    

For the "Individual Coaching" and the "Group Course" it depends on the request if previous knowledge is required.
