As I wanted to have a nice portfolio and be sure that my work would be well received, I needed professional support, which I got in the end and even more than expected! Having done a course at About Fashion before, I knew from the start that the course would be well organised and that my interests and creativity would be at the forefront. What I liked most was that it was always very individualised and that you always got a constructive opinion. Nevertheless, your own opinion is taken into account and what you like more is listened to, because it is you and not someone else who is behind your work. I only knew that I wanted to apply for fashion design at a university and didn't have the slightest idea how to create a portfolio. I was really at a loss at the beginning. The course helped me a lot, thanks to the clearly structured approach and Silke's presentation, I managed to create my own portfolio. After graduating from high school, I was interested in studying fashion design and familiarized myself with the application process. However, despite careful research, I wasn't clear on what exactly would be expected of my portfolio. I was "lost" - then the Fashion Design Portfolio Course
When you apply to study fashion, it's easy to get overwhelmed and frustrated. At least that's how it was for me. I had an idea for the portfolio, but had a hard time implementing it and didn't know what was suitable for a portfolio and what was not. The information from the colleges usually doesn't make it any easier either, as they only roughly describe the requirements, and besides, each school often has different requirements once again.
I knew I needed someone to give me more confidence about the whole thing. While looking for a portfolio course I came across the website of ABOU:FASHION, which seemed very professional and appealed to me. Also the resume of dear Silke sounded very promising to me. Before I booked the course, we already exchanged emails about my introduction, ideas and the course schedule. My gut feeling told me that it would be the right decision to book the course and in retrospect I can also confirm that it was the right decision.
The course gave me exactly the structure and security that I was missing! The communication between the appointments was always very reliable. Even at the appointments themselves, we not only discussed the most necessary things, but Silke also took the time to answer questions about the fashion industry, for example, which are not part of the booked service.
I am very satisfied with the course and certainly could not have achieved such a result without Silke. Many thanks for that!

Since I wanted to have a nice portfolio and be sure that my work would be well received, I needed professional support, which I got in the end, even more than expected! What I particularly liked was that it was always very individual and you always got a constructive opinion. Nevertheless, a lot of value is placed on your own opinion and listening to what you like better, because behind the work is you and not someone else. The lessons are customized to you and due to the good structuring you never lose the overview.

I loved the way everything was taught and explained because you could understand everything well. The practical work played a special role for me personally because I could put the theory into practice, which made the course even more exciting. Homework for the university entrance exam
I did a weekend Fashion Design Portfolio Course with Silke and at a later time again online Individual Coaching to work on the homework for the university entrance exam. During the online coaching we had contact via Skype and mail, which worked very well and is perfect if you are not local in Berlin. I enjoyed both very much and can only recommend it. I learned many new techniques and approaches as well as research methods that I still benefit from.
I was also able to ask Silke questions about the fashion industry at any time and had a really exciting exchange with her. I especially like that you stay in touch with Silke after the course, she is always interested in where your journey has taken you and you can contact her with any questions.
